What is anxiety ?



Anxiety disorders are a group of mental disorders characterized by exaggerated feelings of anxiety and fear responses. Anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events. These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a fast heart rate and shakiness.


Symptoms of anxiety
The signs and symptoms of its attack and panic disorder are given below:
  • Unnecessary worry and tension
  • Restiveness, Hyperactivity and Aggression
  • Irritability
  • Muscle strain
  • Headache, migraine, giddiness and dizziness
  • Excessive sweating
  • Concentration problem
  • Fatigue, exhaustion and worn out
  • Dryness in mouth
  • Insomnia
  • Breathing shortness
  • Heart rate fluctuation
  • Fluctuation in body temperature
  • Chest tightness and stomach churning
  • Bleach, rashes and flushed, sensitivity and numbness of skin
  • Indigestion and constipation
  • Disturb vision and hearing
  • Hormonal disorders
  • Eyes itching
  • Nightmares
  • Immobility in the back muscles and body muscles are bruised
  • Longing for sweet, sugar and sweet products
  • Experiencing cold or chilled
  • Increased or decreased sex drive
  • Weak legs, arms and muscles
  • Weight loss/weight gain
  • Afraid what people think of you
  • Fear of everything
  • Fear of losing control, dying etc.
  • Heightened self-consciousness
  • Burning, itchy, tight scalp
  • Extreme pain in the neck, head and face
  • Jaw pain leads to tooth ache
  • De-realization, de-orientation and desensitization
  • Temporary memory loss

Yoga for anxiety prevention

Anxiety is the outcome of continuous fear, unnecessary thoughts, tension etc. Yoga helps to relax, and release tension, stress, strain and the disorder. Yoga, a component of alternative medicine, plays a bigger role in relaxing the mood and effectively enabling mental health. In fact, Yoga poses helps to achieve overall mental health thereby control the problem and panic disorders. Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation are beneficial in curing of it and panic attack. Yoga poses ensure balanced blood supply to brain thereby ease the disorder and improves mood.
  1. Shavasana is highly useful for stress related physical or mental tiredness. This is the yoga posture effective to reduce stress.
  2. Makarasana relieve the physical and mental tiredness.
  3. Pranayama helps a more peaceful state of mind by reducing stress and negative thinking. This is beneficial for all types of anxiety disorders.
  4. Sheetli Pranayama plays vital roles in curing of panic attack disorders by keeping the mind cool and calm.
  5. Sheetkari Pranayama minimized the impact of irritation, restlessness and impatience.
  6. Nadi Sodhana Pranayama quite effective to calm the body.
  7. Meditation focuses concentration and keeps your fears away. Meditation is effective to lower the level of anxiety.
  8. Forward and backward bending poses reduces the excessive condition.
  9. Yoga Nidra acts on the subconscious level to bring about a state of homeostasis in the body and mind.
  10. Asanas maintain a healthy nervous system.
